This policy explains what information Clear Cut Digital LLC (“we” or “us”) collects through clearcutdigital.com, what we do with it, and which outside services handle it for us. It covers this website, our contact and quote forms, and client onboarding. Your signed service agreement covers the work we do for clients.
Information You Give Us
When you fill out a form, email us, or text us, we receive what you send. Depending on the form, that can include:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your business name and current website address
- Project details such as timing, budget, and your message
- Business information, logos, photos, and text you send during onboarding
Website Quote Drafts
The website quote form saves answers in your browser so you can return on the same device. Local drafts can be restored for up to 30 days after your last edit. Use Clear Draft to remove them sooner.
If you select the optional draft-sharing checkbox, we also save your contact details and project answers with Netlify before you submit. This lets our team review your unfinished quote request and follow up about your project. Sharing is off by default. Shared drafts expire 30 days after they are first shared. Unchecking the option removes the shared answers when the removal request succeeds; the form shows whether it succeeded. This does not delete a quote request you have already submitted.
Draft notification emails contain a private, expiring link rather than your answers. Please do not enter passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information. You can contact us at admin@clearcutdigital.com for help removing a shared draft.
Website Onboarding
Onboarding text answers are saved in your browser for up to 30 days after your last edit. You can use Clear Draft to remove local answers before submission. When you send your website details, we store the answers with Netlify. Files and account access are collected separately from onboarding. A temporary Netlify record helps us resume interrupted submissions and retry confirmation emails; its content is removed after 30 days by our maintenance process. This does not delete the completed project record or website assets.
A private project invitation may prefill details from your approved project. Keep that invitation private. Never submit passwords or financial information. For help correcting or removing submitted information, contact hello@clearcutdigital.com.
Information Collected Automatically
Analytics
We measure visits with Umami, an analytics tool that runs on our own server at analytics.clearcutdigital.com and doesn’t use cookies. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location, such as your country or region. We use it to see which pages people find useful.
Server Logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, so it can deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Browser Storage
The quote and onboarding forms save your answers in your browser’s local storage so you can come back to them, as described above. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
How We Use Your Information
- To reply to your messages and prepare quotes
- To build, host, and maintain websites for our clients
- To send service emails, such as form receipts, monthly reports, and billing notices
- To keep our forms free of spam and our site secure
- To understand how people use this website so we can improve it
We don’t sell or rent your personal information.
Services That Handle Your Information
We share information only with the services that help us run the site and our business, and only what each one needs:
- Netlify hosts this website and stores form submissions, shared quote drafts, and onboarding answers.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form submission comes from a person. To do that, Cloudflare receives information about your browser and your IP address.
- Emailit sends the confirmation emails our forms trigger.
- Google Maps shows our location on the contact page on larger screens. Google may collect information, including through cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.
- Stripe processes card payments for clients. We don’t see or store full card numbers.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.
How Long We Keep It
We keep messages and quote requests as long as we need them to respond and keep reasonable business records. We keep client project information for as long as we provide service, plus the time needed for legal, tax, and accounting records. Drafts and temporary records expire on the schedules described above.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), spam protection, and limited access to keep your information safe. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so please don’t send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information through our forms.
Your Choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email admin@clearcutdigital.com and we’ll reply within a reasonable time. Some information may need to stay in our records for legal or accounting reasons.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to other websites, including client sites in our portfolio. Their owners control what they collect, so check their privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
